NWS lowers nor’easter rainfall totals for CT
So, where’s the rain from the nor’easter?
Earlier Thursday, the National Weather Service was forecasting rainfall totals from a half-inch to an inch in western Connecticut and 1 to 1.5 inches in New Haven and Middlesex counties.
This afternoon it significantly lowered those totals for western Connecticut. The revised rainfall total now ranges from a tenth to a quarter inch.
Totals for New Haven and Middlesex counties were also lowered to around an inch.
Earlier forecasts that had 3 inches of rain possible in towns like Stonington have been lowered to around 1.5 inches.
Radar images show rainfall is farther away than earlier forecast.

The NWS has not changed its forecast for wind speed and gusts.
Highest wind gusts recorded by Thursday afternoon was 41 mph at Tweed New Haven Airport, 35 at Sikorsky, Memorial Airport in Stratford, 28 mph at Oxford airport and 24 at Danbury airport.
