A big second half lifted the Hall girls basketball team to a 47-37 victory over Ridgefield in the opening round of the Enfield Rotary Classic Tournament on Thursday at Enfield High School. The Tigers will play Weaver in the consolation game today at 5 p.m. Weaver lost to unbeaten host Enfield, 72-36, in the other opening-round game Thursday. Hall and Enfield meet in the championship game tonight at 7 p.m. Getting balanced scoring, Ridgefield took a 19-17 halftime lead over Hall in Thursday's game. But Hall outscored the Tigers, 11-4, in the third quarter to open a 28-23 lead going into the final eight minutes. The Warriors added 19 points in the fourth period to secure the triumph. Senior forward Caroline Curnal led Ridgefield (1-2) with 18 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, when she hit two three-pointers. Sophomore guard Kate Wagner added six points, and sophomore forward Sabrina Grizzaffi had five points. Sophomores Megan Klosowski and Isabella Giordano and freshmen Norah McNeece and Faith Arnold rounded out the scoring with two points apiece. Jenna Zydanowicz scored all of her team-high 13 points in the second half for Hall (3-2). Olivia Bonee added nine points by hitting three three-pointers in the fourth quarter. Alexa Gellerman contributed seven points, while Olivia Deslauriers and Siobhan Boyle had five points apiece.
