In a performance consistent with the dominance it has shown so far this season, the Ridgefield High boys hockey team trounced Fairfield, 9-2, on Wednesday night at the Winter Garden.

The Tigers, who are ranked first in the state, improved their record to 15-0 with the victory.

Nick Cullinan opened the scoring for Ridgefield with a first-period goal assisted by Patrick Rigby.

With just under five minutes left in the period, Owen Luft made it 2-0 on an assist from Kees van Wees. But Rhys Davies scored a power-play goal to cut Fairfield's deficit to 2-1 at the end of one.

Ridgefield then scored five unanswered goals in the second period to take control of the game.

Brady McSpedon's goal (assisted by Cullinan) put the Tigers ahead 3-1 early in the middle period. Matt Walker scored the next goal and then assisted Will Forrest's goal, which gave Ridgefield a 5-1 lead.

Goals from Christoph Schneider and Luft (assisted by Jack Brown and Will Stewart, respectively) increased the Tigers' lead to 7-1 through two periods.

Brown scored his first varsity goal to kickstart the third period, with the assist coming courtesy of Luke Welsh.

After Fairfield's James Pisciotta converted with seven minutes to play, Walker ended the scoring with his second goal, on assists from Simon van Wees and Forrest.
