Ending a tricky stretch of schedule that featured seven-of-nine games on the road, the Ridgefield High boys basketball team registered a pair of wins last week.

The Tigers defeated Bridgeport Central, 81-63, on Wednesday and then topped Darien, 67-51, on Friday.

Those triumphs left Ridgefield with an 8-4 record heading into the final four weeks of the regular season.

Senior shooting guard James St. Pierre scored 28 points in the win over Central and 26 in the victory over Darien. Against Central, he hit 6-of-10 3-point attempts while adding four rebounds and three assists. In the win over Darien, St. Pierre was limited to one 3-pointer but converted 9-of-10 free throws. He also grabbed seven rebounds and made three steals.

Junior guard Chris Knachel contributed 16 points against Central, hitting 5-of-7 shots from the field and sinking 5-of-6 free throws. Knachel added 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the victory over Darien.

Derek Szpakowski (eight points), Matt Misurelli (seven), Cameron Andry (six), Yohann Britto (five), Luke McGarrity (four), Nick Hall (four), Matt DeLuca (two), and Ryan Garson (one) also scored for the Tigers against Central. Garson and Misurelli each pulled down five rebounds, and Misurelli had a team-high nine assists.

Britto hit two 3-pointers and went 4-of-4 from the line to finish with 10 points against Darien. DeLuca (seven points), McGarrity (six), Szpakowski (four), Johnny Briody (two), and Misurelli (two) rounded out Ridgefield's scoring. DeLuca grabbed six rebounds, while Misurelli added six assists and three steals.

Notes: Starting with tomorrow's contest against Wilton (5:30 p.m.), Ridgefield will play five of its last eight regular-season games at home.
