Led by three division champions, the Ridgefield High wrestling team had an impressive performance at the Jonathan Law Invitational on Saturday in Milford.

Ridgefield registered 145.5 points to finish third overall in a large field of 20-plus teams.

Winning their weight classes for the Tigers were Jesse Walker, Peter Murray and Simon Preston.

Seeded second at 132 pounds, Walker got a first-round bye and then pinned his next three opponents to win the division. In the championship match, Walker pinned top-seed Shayne McCourt of Jonathan Law in four minutes and 57 seconds.

Murray, the second seed at 138 pounds, reached the finals with two pins and a 15-3 major decision. He then defeated Law's Aisaiah Rodriguez by a score of 11-4 in the title match.

The top seed at 160 pounds, Preston got a bye and two pins (in less than two minutes combined) to advance to the championship match. He then won an 11-4 major decision over second-seed Josh Schwartz of Northwestern to become Ridgefield's third weight-class champ.

Adding top-four finishes for the Tigers were Ben Smart and Lazar Agoev. Smart tied for third at 120 pounds (due to a five-match rule), and Agoev placed fourth at 152 pounds.
