Ridgefield swims past McMahon/Norwalk
For the second straight meet, it was OK to apply the brakes early.
After building a 46-point lead, the Ridgefield High boys swim team hydroplaned to a 93-85 victory over the Brien McMahon/Norwalk combined team on Wednesday at the Barlow Mountain pool.
With a third straight triumph, the Tigers improved their record to 4-1.
Finishing first for Ridgefield were Connor Hunt in the 200 freestyle (2:05.48) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.31), AJ Bornstein in the 200 individual medley (2:20.94) and the 500 freestyle (4:24.77), Will Bryant in the 50 freestyle (25.22), and Kieran Smith in the 100 freestyle (53.05).
Luke Hruska, Bornstein, Smith, and Trey O'Malley combined to win the 200 medley relay (1:53.68), while O'Malley, Hunt, Bryant, and Bornstein were first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:47.59).
The Tigers got second-place finishes from Vidur Hareesh in the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle, Caitlin Inall in the diving competition, Andrew Dong in the 200 IM, Hruska in the 100 butterfly, and Bryant in the 400 freestyle.
Andrew Yu, Dong, Max Gagnon, and Hareesh teamed to finish second in the 200 freestyle relay.
