The Ridgefield girls lacrosse team withstood Fairfield Ludlowe's second-half rally to secure a 12-11 triumph on Tuesday night at Tiger Hollow.

The win was the fourth straight for Ridgefield, which is now 8-4 overall this season.

The Tigers led 8-3 at halftime but then had to hold on, as Ludlowe outscored the hosts, 8-4, in the final 25 minutes.

Caitlin Slaminko had six goals for Ridgefield, and Caroline Curnal contributed two goals and four assists.

Maeve Tobin added two goals and an assist, while Mae Briody had a goal and an assist and Katie Hoban scored a goal.

A three-goal surge late in the first half helped the Tigers get some breathing room. Tobin's goal off an assist from Curnal put Ridgefield ahead 6-3 with 1:55 left before the break. Slaminko then scored off a free position with 39 seconds remaining, and Tobin then forced a turnover and fed Curnal for a goal with 2.5 seconds left.

"Erika Linke, Ellie O'Connor, Caitlin Slaminko, and Maeve Tobin came up with big defensive plays to help [us] preserve [the] win," said Ridgefield head coach Cece Berger. "Caroline Curnal also had an impressive game in the midfield with a season-high 11 draw possessions."

Notes: Ridgefield goalie Lexi Held finished with six saves.
