The Ridgefield High boys golf team finished 16th at the Division I state tournament on Monday at the Stanley Golf Course in New Britain.

Ridgefield had a team score of 336, which was 52 strokes over par.

Greenwich (293, nine-over par) finished first, with Darien (297) second and Conard (298) third.

Oliver Frossell shot a 10-over par 81 to lead the Tigers. Brandon Tuccio (82) was one stroke behind Frossell, with Mark Habeeb (83) one stroke behind Tuccio. Tom Lombardozzi also contributed to Ridgefield's team score with a 90.

Frossell, Habeeb and Lombardozzi each had a birdie for the Tigers on the back nine.

Tuccio parred 10 of the holes and Frossell added eight pars. Both golfers had six of their pars on the front nine.

Greenwich's Jackson Fretty continued his exceptional play to top the individual leaderboard with a three-under par 68, edging Xavier's Chris Fosdick (70) by two strokes. Fretty was coming off first-place finishes at the Hap Holohan Invitational and the FCIAC team championships. The Holohan serves as the FCIAC individual tournament.
