Golf: Ridgefield boys fourth, girls fifth at FCIACs
The Ridgefield High boys golf team tied for fourth place and the girls team finished fifth at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships on Thursday at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield.
The RHS boys had a team score of 321 to tie Darien for fourth place behind Greenwich (298), Staples (310) and New Canaan (316).
Oliver Frossell shot a four-over par 75 to lead Ridgefield and tie Greenwich's Billy Nail and Staples' Tristan Hochman for second place. The three were 10 strokes behind Greenwich's Jackson Fretty, who was the medalist with a tournament-record 65, six strokes under par.
Brandon Tuccio (81), Mark Habeeb (82) and Tom Lombardozzi (83) also had their scores count for the Tigers.
The Ridgefield girls had a team score of 400 to place fifth behind New Canaan (334), Fairfield Warde (350), Fairfield Ludlowe (372), and Greenwich (381).
Leading the Tigers was Alyssa Maiolo, who shot a 20-over par 93. Jenna Harford (98), Caroline Bunt (100) and Cassie Smith (109) also contributed to Ridgefield's team score.
