The 11th Annual Annual Southwest Cafe Margarita 5K will take place this Saturday, July 29, in Ridgefield.

The 3.1-mile race starts at 7 p.m. outside the restaurant, located at 109 Danbury Road. The USATF-certified course is a flat out-and-back via South Street.

Proceeds from the event benefit Ridgefield Sunrise Cottage, a home to six developmentally disabled adults. Located in a neighborhood setting close to town, the Cottage provides independent living for its residents.

The first 300 race registrants will receive a free T-shirt. All runners ages 21 and over will receive a free margarita after the race at Southwest Cafe.

Awards go to the top male and female overall finishers, as well as the top-three male and female finishers in each age group (nine-under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-over.

Online registration is available at southwestcafe.com. After registering, runners may pick up their race packet on Friday (July 28) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Southwest Cafe, or on Saturday (July 29) from 10 to 5 at the Ridgefield Running Company and 5 to 7 at Southwest Cafe.
