Report: Derek Jeter's castle for sale
He's baseball royalty, and he lives like it too. But former New York Yankee and current part owner of the Miami Marlins, Derek Jeter, is now unloading his family castle in Greenwood Lake, NY.
According to toptenrealestatedeals.com, the home, dating back to the 1900s, is where Jeter's maternal grandfather grew up. The family sold it in 1996, but Jeter bought it for himself when it came back on the market in 2002.
"Jeter spent many of his childhood summers at the castle swimming, playing sports and chores," the site writes.
The six-bedroom estate looks more like it belongs in Disney World (it has a turret) than on the border of New York and New Jersey. There is a main house, a guest house, pool house and boat house located on Greenwood Lake. The main house also has seven full and five half baths, four kitchens, a game room, sun room, gym and family room with a bar, according to toptenrealestatedeals.com.
"The turret opens out to a widow's walk which is duplicated on the guest house, both providing beautiful lake and wooded views. There are extensive gardens, a Statue of Liberty replica and a four-car garage," the site writes.
The new king or queen of the castle will have to pay a hefty fee to own this castle–its listed with Wright Bros. Real Estate for $14.75 million.
