DANBURY — Two people were taken to the hospital late Saturday after their SUV left the road, rolled over, and struck a concrete wall on the banks of the Still River, officials said.

The crash happened a little after 11 p.m., the Danbury Fire Department said on Facebook.

Fire officials said the crash occurred off of White Street, where a three-foot high cement wall prevents access to the river bank.

Danbury police and fire crews responded to the scene, where they found the Mazda SUV on its side in the grass.

“Firefighters working alongside EMS and Police Officers, removed the occupants from the crash, then treated and transported them from the scene,” the fire department said. Fire crews provided light for the police to investigate the accident.

The condition of the vehicle occupants was not immediately known, and their identities were not released Sunday morning.
