RIDGEFIELD — The motorcyclist involved in Saturday morning’s Route 35 crash died from his injuries, police announced Monday.

First responders were called to an accident on Salem Road around 11:30 a.m. and found an injured motorcyclist at the scene.

Police have identified the motorist as 60-year-old Greenwich resident John Lienhardt.

Lienhardt was treated at the scene then transported to Danbury Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Authorities determined his motorcycle had been traveling eastbound when it went off the roadway and struck a road sign.

Ridgefield police are still investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to Capt. Shawn Platt at 203-438-6531.
