Ruth J. (Ruthie) Desimone, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 in Spring Hill, FL surrounded by her family. Daughter of Walter and Estelle Bushell, Ruth was born on August 7, 1935, in New York, NY. She met her husband Dan while working at Rheinhold Publishing. They married on 11\/19\/1955, and had celebrated their 62nd year anniversary this past year. They had four children while living in New Jersey and moved to Ridgefield, Connecticut in 1969. Dan and Ruth lived in Ridgefield for 24 years and then retired to Timber Pines community in Spring Hill, FL. While in Ridgefield, Ruth worked as child care provider, and was employed by the Ridgefield School system and Boehringer Ingelheim before retiring in 1993. Ruth and Dan were active parishioners at St. Elizabeth Seton parish. They enjoyed the Eight Lakes Community Association (Mamanasco Beach Club) and its related social events. She was an avid walker, and would be seen on the move in the Danbury Mall or on Mamanasco Road. Her passions during retirement included her many grandchildren, cross stitching, and travelling the globe with Dan. Ruth was also very active in the Timber Pines community and enjoyed being a member of numerous clubs and groups. Ruth will be remembered by all those who knew her for her spark, willingness to talk to anyone (literally), and always having a positive outlook on life. She appreciated every moment of every day. She was a Catholic by Faith and was a member of St. Theresa Church. Survivors include her loving husband, Daniel Desimone, daughter Debra and husband Stefano of Tampa, FL, 3 sons: Daniel and wife Diane of LaGrangeville, NY, Michael and wife Michelle of Ridgefield, Stephen of San Diego, CA, sister Judy and husband George Lynch of Blufton, SC; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
