Mary Ann Galloway Larkin, 86, of Topeka, Kansas, died peacefully on August 2, 2018. She was born on September 29, 1931, to Mary and Frank Galloway. Mary grew up in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, and attended St. Joseph\u2019s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira, New York. She met her husband Jim when he was her patient after being injured in a car accident. They married in 1954. They lived in Elmira until 1967, when they moved with their six children to Ridgefield, Connecticut. Mary worked for many years as the supervisor of surgical services at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut, while raising their family. After retirement, Mary and Jim moved to Topeka. Mary enjoyed helping to raise her many grandchildren and volunteering in the recovery room at St. Francis Medical Center. Mary is survived by her children Jim (Kathy), Mike (Claudia), Maureen Warner (Russ), Tom (Loren), Jerry (Sara) and Joe (Holly); many grandchildren; and brother, Francis Galloway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 1996. Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2018, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka, KS 66614, with visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, New York, at a later date. Contributions in her memory may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, sent in care of the funeral home.
