Joseph W. McManus Jr., 58, a lifelong resident of Ridgefield, passed away on March 20, 2018, at Glen Hill Center under the care of Regional Hospice & Palliative Care of Western CT. Joe was born on October 21, 1959; a son of the late Joseph (\u201cJoJo\u201d) W. McManus, Sr. and the late Augusta (\u201cTotsy\u201d) Meyer McManus. After graduating from Ridgefield High School in 1977, Joe had a career as a project manager responsible for installing specialized shielded rooms for medical & governmental facilities. For many years Joe\u2019s work took him around the world, visiting many beautiful places throughout the United States and abroad. With his job, Joe traveled to China, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, South America and the Arctic, providing him with a lifetime of memories and great stories. Later in life, Joe enjoyed meeting and talking with neighbors and friends during his daily walk and job at Squashes on Main Street. Joe is survived by his brother, Michael McManus and wife, Frances; his sisters, Kate Agius and husband, Pat, Mary Neumann and husband, Jeff and Jane Port and husband, Bob. In addition to his siblings, Mr. McManus is survived by his nieces and nephews Bridget (Conor) Lander, Jamie (Daniel) Negron, Cory Neumann, Ryan Neumann, Joe (Robin) Agius, Matthew McManus, Sarah McManus, Leah (Tim) Utech, Rebecca Port, Jennifer Port and Anna Port. He is also survived by his great niece and nephews Colton & Wesley Lander, Hayden & Collin Agius and Joshua & Dominic Utech. \u00a0 In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister Mary Anne McManus. Friends will be received on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
