Jane R. Knudsen passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018, at age 57, surrounded by her family: Bobby, Dana, Kelley, Chris, and Elaine. Jane was born on September 19, 1961, in New York, NY, daughter of Marvin and Elaine Rosenthal, and sister of Lynn. She was a cheerleader at Byram Hills High School and University of Miami, and graduated from Pace University, BA and Mercy College, MS. She worked passionately as a preschool teacher in Ridgefield and Camp Director at the town\u2019s summer camp. She was honored as Ridgefield Town Employee of the Year in 2008. She gave her time to the community and served as a Girl Scout Leader, PTA volunteer, and youth lacrosse coach. Jane was a warm and loving friend, who touched many lives with her positivity, humor, and bright smile. Her vivacious aura was contagious to others. She fought a courageous battle through nine years of stage four cancer, greatly exceeding her life expectancy. She was an inspiration, a warrior, a loving mother, and a ray of sunshine to all who were lucky enough to know her. Janie will be missed every single day. A celebration of Janie\u2019s life for friends and family will be held this Sunday, January 13th, from 2-6pm at the Lounsbury House, 316 Main Street, in Ridgefield.
