Clement J. Rieger, 85, of Ridgefield, passed away on January 27, 2018. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Joan (Baker) Rieger. Mr. Rieger was born in Wood-Ridge, NJ on March 5, 1932, a son of the late Francis and Anne (Meneghan) Rieger. He is a graduate of St. Peter\u2019s Prep and Georgetown University, he also served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Marine Corps. A retired IBM executive, Mr. Rieger was a resident of Ridgefield for the past 20 years since moving from South Salem, NY. He was an avid tennis player, a college football player at Georgetown and and sports fan. Mr. Rieger was a parishioner of St. Mary\u2019s Church of Ridgefield. Mr. Rieger is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan and their 4 children: Robert Rieger and his wife, Shelly; Michael Rieger, Karen Rieger and her husband, Scott Amoye and Allison Rieger. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Madison, Jackson and Mackenzie Rieger and Christian and Sarah Amoye. In addition to his wife, children and their spouses and grandchildren, Mr. Rieger is survived by a sister, Helen Dunphey and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rieger was predeceased by a brother, Francis Rieger and a sister, Anne Marie Cosgriff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10:15 AM at St. Mary\u2019s Roman Catholic Church, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will be private. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
