Maribeth Curtis, a former Ridgefielder, died peacefully at home in North Andover, Mass., on Wednesday, May 2, with her two daughters by her side. She was 70 years old. Ms. Curtis was born Aug. 20, 1941, in Herkimer, N.Y. Until recently, she lived in Ridgefield and, before that, in Pound Ridge, N.Y., where she owned The Olde Lamplighter, an antique lighting business, for over three decades. She is survived by her daughters, Leta Applegate of North Andover, and Katie Cohen of Pacific Palisades, Calif., a sister, Louise Sullivan of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Chris, 14, Colby, 10, Jack, 10, Caleigh, 8 and Molly, 7; and two sons-in-law, Will Applegate and Bobby Cohen. A memorial service took place Tuesday, May 8, at the Pound Ridge Community Church. A private burial took place at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
