William H. Masters,19

William Henry Masters, 19, son of Paul and Di Masters, died unexpectedly on January 27, 2017.  He is survived and loved by sister Julia, brother Sam, sisters Claire, Anna, Izzy, Charlotte, and brother-in-law Joe Dunn; and maternal grandparents Gan and Jack Rogero.  Will (or as some know him, Henry) was a graduate of Ridgefield High School and attended Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.  He was the youngest public official ever elected in the town of Ridgefield and served proudly on the Ridgefield Youth Commission for four years.

With rose tinted glasses, a cane, or a top hat, Will left a strong impact on everyone. He was a quirky character who always took the time to share a story and a laugh. Will believed before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. He did what he loved and he was loved for it. Most people have a skeleton or two in their closet, but Will rode with his in the passenger seat. “Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish to the crowd.”

Will saw people’s souls and didn’t let superficial things distract from the essence of people.  We will miss his bare feet and quirky, kind humor.  The world lost a gentle soul and he will be missed by many.

There will be a celebration of Will’s life from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Ridgefield Community Center at Lounsbury House, 316 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
