William E. Saint, 85, salesman, Marine veteran

William E. Saint, 85, of Southbury, husband of Frances M. (LaDelfa) Saint died on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Saint was born in Canton, Ohio, November 8, 1928, son of William Russell and Lyda (Marshall) Saint.  He attended Ohio schools, Ohio University, Kent State University and the University of New Mexico.

He was a stand out all state football player at Lehman High School, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and a retired salesman. Most importantly he was truly a loving husband, father, friend & pop pop to his grandchildren.

An area resident since 1967 coming from Wilmington, Del., he attended St. Mary Parish of Ridgefield and Sacred Heart Parish of Southbury and was a former member of the Newtown Country Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Thomas R. Saint and a daughter, Cynthia Sue Saint; a brother, James R. Austin; three sisters, Nancy Hostetter, Ann Willaman and Susan Phorley; three grandchildren Sarah Saint Hamilton, Justin & Rachel Saint; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield, on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11 am
