Thomas Schaub, 80, assistant postmaster

Thomas F. Schaub, 80, of Ridgefield, husband of Brenda (Mannion) Schaub, died at his home on Sunday morning, August 10, 2014.

Mr. Schaub was born in the Bronx, NY, August 28, 1933, son of Frank H. and Alice (Kelly) Schaub.  He attended New York schools and graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. He was a U.S. Army Peacetime veteran of the 33rd Armored Division serving in Germany.

He was a retired Assistant Postmaster of the Mt. Kisco, NY Post Office having been employed for thirty years.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Schaub was a member and treasurer of the Pootatuck Archers of Redding and the Connecticut Archery Association.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Anghinetti and her husband, Paul of Seekonk, MA; two sons, Thomas W. Schaub and his wife, Sara of Georgetown, TX and James F. Schaub of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Frank H. Schaub and his wife, Gail of North Salem, NY; eight grandchildren, Kayla, John and Matthew Anghinetti; William Schaub; Brendan, Jackson, Michael and Declan Schaub and many beloved nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield.

Burial will follow in Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, contributions to Regional Hospice and Home Care, 39 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury 06810 or to the St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Emergency Fund, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield 06877 would be appreciated.
