Obituary: Vincent J. Nichols, 90, longtime Ridgefield resident

Longtime Ridgefield resident, Vincent J. Nichols, 90, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Danbury.

Vince was born in Brooklyn, NY., March 19, 1928. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Serafina Notarnicola and his sister Catherine Fusillo.

He attended Manhattan High School of Aviation then served 2 years in the army. When he returned he attended Syracuse University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1952. After college, he worked for Franklin Institute Research Laboratories in Philadelphia, Honeywell in Pottstown, Pa. and then retired from Perkin Elmer Corporation in Danbury, after 28 years of service as a senior contract administrator.

In addition to his beloved wife of 27 years, Margot Wilbanks. He is survived by his three children, Peter of Ridgefield, Laura of Sandwich, Massachusetts, and Steve of Wilton and their spouses, as well as his six grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, Robbie, Heather, Alexa, and Samantha.

He spent much of his time fishing, sailing, cooking, and traveling. He also enjoyed his time as a member of the Ridgefield Men’s Club.

The family is planning a celebration of his life at a later date.
