Obituary: Mildred (Millie) Bedard

Mildred (Millie) Bedard lived a full and loving life of nearly 88 years. She jokingly attributed her longevity to never being gainfully employed.

Although she did briefly have a job, she knew that her heart was at home with her family, so it just wasn’t for her. Fortunately, she was married to her equally loving and very supportive husband, Roland, for nearly 65 years until his passing 5 years ago.

Millie was the model of a loving and dedicated wife, mother of four children, grandmother to twelve grandchildren, and great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren with more on the way. She blessed the lives of everyone she touched, brought a smile to their faces, and warmth to their hearts. Her witty humor was often the life of the party.

She loved playing slot machines in Atlantic City and card games with her family. Her favorite pastime was cooking meatballs, chicken cutlets, and Italian tomato sauce for Sunday afternoon dinners.

Friends will be received on Sunday, March 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital or The American Kidney Foundation.
