Marie Franchella, 82, homemaker, wrote poetry, Founders Hall member

Marie Franchella, 82,  a resident of Ridgefield, CT. and formerly of Port Chester died March 5, 2013.

She was born May 9, 1930 in Port Chester to the late Alfred and Lena Bertino Fiumano.  She was raised and educated in Port Chester.

She was married October 6, 1954 to Nicholas Franchella in Greenwich.  Mr. Franchella died December 21, 2004.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Founders Hall in Ridgefield, CT.

Mrs. Franchella was a prolific poetry writer. She was inspired by the love of her family, the ocean and Cape Cod sunsets.

She is survived by her sons, Dominic Franchella of Norwalk, CT. and Peter Franchella of Rye, NY., and daughter Nina Zvon of Ridgefield, CT., sisters Angela Alleva of Rye Brook, NY., and Dolores Fiumano of Port Chester, NY. and 8 grandchildren.  Visitation will be 6-8PM on Friday March 8, 2013 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30AM on Saturday March 9, 2013 at Corpus Christi Church 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY.  Interment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery Rye Brook, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Memphis TN.
