Maddelena Foster, 88, worked for Readers Digest

Maddelena (Maddie) R. Foster, 88, a longtime resident of Katonah, NY and Vero Beach, FL. passed away on July 1, 2014 after a long illness. Maddelena was born in New York City in December, 1927, and passed away on July 1, 2014 in Cornwall, NY. Maddelena graduated from Julia Richmond High School, NYC (valedictorian) and received her B.S. in Sociology from Hunter College, NYC.

She worked for Robert Whitney Associates, NYC and Readers Digest, Pleasantville, NY. She was passionate about her Italian-American heritage, cooking holiday dinners, and described her memories of growing up in NYC. She was a passionate reader and lifelong learner. She and her husband, Gary, traveled extensively in Europe and throughout the United States and enjoyed their winters in Vero Beach, FL. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Connie Taibi-Lewis and husband Ronald Lewis of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Ridgefield, CT and son, Benjamin Taibi of Cornwall, NY; grandchildren Dr. David Epter of Emeryville, CA and Anthony Epter of Milton, MA , their wives Arlene and Chloe and great-grandchildren Elijah and Julian. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Gary A. Foster, her brothers Nickolas and Pascal Pagano and her sister Camilla Taibi., and great-grandson Caleb Epter. Mom, grandma and great-grandma, we always will love you and will continue to think and pray for you every day.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Maddelena’s name. There will be a memorial service for friends and family on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ridgefield, CT followed by refreshments.
