Jane McManus, 83, worked for Union Trust, active in community

Jane McManus, 83, formerly from Ridgefield, CT, passed peacefully with her sons by her side after a long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease on Sunday, April 7th in Denver, Colorado.

Jane is survived by her children, Paul McManus of Newtown, Brian, Christian and Mark McManus of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and her daughter-in-law, Tracey McManus of Newtown.  She also leaves her six grandchildren: Casey, Kevin, Katherine, Connor, Ryan and Brendan.

Her husband Jack McManus predeceased Jane on August 21, 2006.  They were married for 47 years.

Jane was born November 14, 1929 in Utica, NY.  She grew up on a farm and always had a love for animals, nature and the outdoors.

Upon graduating high school Jane worked for AT&T as a switchboard operator where she met her husband Jack who was a salesman for IBM.

They raised their family in Ridgefield.  They loved to entertain and their themed parties were the hit of the town.

Jane was very active in the Newcomer’s Club, Garden Club, Meals On Wheels, enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with friends and had a love of reading mystery novels, taking walks and playing golf.

Jane spent many years working for the Ridgefield Union Trust Bank where she worked her way from drive-up window teller to a senior bank executive.

Jane was considered a living saint by many for her patience and love in raising her four boys :-)  Her four boys meant everything to her; so much so, she picked up the boys passion for baseball; Jane was a major New York Yankees, Joe Torre and Derek Jeter fan.

Jane was known by all as a “really good person — could never say an unkind word”.  A perfect model for her children, grandchildren and community.  More than anything, Jane loved being a Mom and Grandmother.  Jane will surely be missed.

For the last nine years Jane lived with her son Christian who provided her with full-time loving care.

Services will be held in Highlands Ranch, CO.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Jane McManus.
