James P. DeLuca, 95, worked for Schlumberger

James P. DeLuca, 95, of Redding, formerly of Ridgefield, died on Thursday at Ridgefield Crossing.

He was the husband of the late Leonora (Roberti) DeLuca.

Mr. DeLuca was born in Ridgefield, June 29, 1917, a son of the late David and Mary (DiOrio) DeLuca.  He attended Ridgefield schools and graduated from Ridgefield High School.

Mr. DeLuca was retired from the former Schlumberger-Doll Research Company, a member  of the Italian American Mutual Aid Society and St. Mary Parish all of Ridgefield.

He is survived by a niece, Scarlett Kleinow of Homewood, IL, two nephews, Dean DeLuca of Weston, CT and  David O'Hara of Colleyville, TX; three first cousins, Anna DeLuca of Redding with whom he made his home, Giuliano DeLuca of Bethel and Anthony DeLuca, Sr. of Redding; a sister in law, Joan DeLuca of Weston, CT and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. DeLuca was predeceased by a sister, Jenny O'Hara and by a brother, Dominic DeLuca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10:15 am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield with the Msgr. Laurence Bronkiewicz officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday from 9 am to 10 am.
