Ethelmae Montesi Abdella, 76, worked at King Neptune, taught dance

Ethelmae (Montesi) Abdella, 76, of Danbury, died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Glen Hill Center, Danbury.

Essie was born in Danbury, May 12, 1936, a daughter of the late William J. and Ethel (Lown) Montesi.  She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1954.

She was for many years a member of the wait staff of the former King Neptune Restaurant of Ridgefield and later operated the Lake Avenue Coffee Shop of Danbury with Liz Salvestrini prior to her death. Ethelmae was also a former dance instructor with Arthur Murray Studio of Danbury.

She is survived by a son, Edward Abdella of Danbury; a sister, Maria Riley; a brother, David Montesi; a sister in law, Mary Ann Montesi, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ethelmae was predeceased by a brother, William Montesi.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends at St. Anthony Church on Friday from 9 AM to 10 AM.
