Estelle Kucich, 82, former Ridgefielder, worked for New York Life

Estelle Kucich died on Friday, May 3, in the company of her husband and children in Rancho Mirage CA after a long struggle with pneumonia. She was 82.

The wife of John Kucich, she was born and raised in Danielson CT, the daughter of Louis Woisard Sr. and Beatrice Lafrance Woisard.

After graduating from Killingly High School, she attended Wells College, where she graduated in 1952. She worked for several years at New York Life.

Estelle and John married in 1959 and raised two children, living in Tarrytown and Chappaqua NY, Lake Forest IL, Ridgefield CT and, since 1993, in Williamstown MA, wintering in Rancho Mirage.

Estelle is remembered as an avid reader, an active follower of politics, a sharp-eyed investor, and an accomplished cook whose greatest pleasure was welcoming family and friends to her table.

She was a devout Roman Catholic throughout her life, and she is particularly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known for her cheerful   optimism and expansive generosity.

She is survived by her husband John, her brother Louis Woisard, her children Margo Lancia and John Kucich, Jr., her grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander, Christopher and Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews.
