Colleen Maruscsak, 78, former Ridgefielder, knitted for newborns

Colleen Maruscsak of Summerfield, Fla., a homemaker who had lived in Ridgefield for 44 years, died at The Villages Regional Hospital on May 7. She was 78 years old.

A native of Caswell Plantation, Maine, Mrs. Maruscsak had been a resident of Ridgefield from 1958 to 2002 when she moved to Florida.

She enjoyed knitting and donating clothing she knitted to hospitals to give to newborn babies. She loved gardening and had a large flower garden at her home.

She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Florida.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen Maruscsak of Summerfield; two sons, Mark Maruscsak and his wife, Nancy, of Preston, and Thomas Maruscsak and his wife, Dawn, of Dana Point, Calif., and two grandchildren, Nathaniel Maruscsak and Nicholas Donner.
