Carolyn Hartigan, 94, community volunteer, Eucharistic minister

Carolyn Hartigan, 94 of Ridgefield, wife of the late Michael Hartigan died on Monday, May 28, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Hartigan was born in New York, NY, September 18, 1917, daughter of Charles and Mary (Worth) Crossen. She attended New York schools and graduated from secretarial school.

A resident of Ridgefield for the past fifteen years coming from Queens, New York, she was a member of Founders Hall, a community volunteer, Mrs. Hartigan volunteered most often at the Keeler Tavern and Meals on Wheels.

She was a member of St. Mary Parish, Ridgefield and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Ellen) Hartigan of Belle Harbor, NY and Michael (Martha) Hartigan of Massapequa, NY; four daughters, Mary Ellen (Greg) Murphy of Leesburg, VA, Christine (Henry) Iori of Belle Harbor, NY, Patricia Fitzpatrick of Madison, CT and Jean (James) Voglino of Coral Gables, FL; thirteen grandchildren, Daniel, Janine, Jennifer, Kevin, Jessica, Ellen, Maureen, James, Michael, Christopher, Katelin, Brian and James and two great grandchildren, Caroline and Jack.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield with Msgr. Laurence J. Bronkiewicz, Pastor officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
