Alberta Z. Amundsen, 91, former Ridgefielder

Alberta Z. Amundsen of Watertown, N.Y., passed away December 20, 2014 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. after a short illness.

She was born in 1923 in Bridgeport CT, Daughter of the late Albert F. Zint and May Louise (Bischoff) Zint. She graduated high school in Stafford CT, and worked for Remington Arms in Bridgeport CT. She married the late Roger C. Amundsen in 1942 living in Devon CT until their relocation to Ridgefield CT in the mid 1950’s.

Alberta was a homemaker, until the mid 60’s, raising her two sons. Then she worked for Asketh Well Drilling and the A.J. Carnall Insurance as a Claims Representative until she retired 1986. Then she and her late husband resided in the Poconos until she moved to Watertown in 2005.

Alberta is survived by her son Eric and his wife Callie, Watertown N.Y., her daughter-in-law Donna Amundsen, Hillsborough N.J., also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Amundsen, Hillsborough N.J., Erin and her husband Matt Cordova, Chaumont N.Y., Kelly and her husband David Finley, Watertown N.Y., and four great grand children. Her husband Roger and son Alan predeceased her.

There will be no calling hours or funeral. She will be cremated and interred in Hillsborough N.J., next to her late son.
