Ada Pierandri Leary of Ridgefield, the last living member of her Ridgefield High School class, died on Sunday morning, Nov. 10, at Danbury Hospital. She was 97 years old and the widow of John P. “Jack” Leary

Mrs. Leary was born in Ridgefield on Feb. 22, 1916, daughter of Mariano and Maria Bacchi Pierandri.  She attended Ridgefield schools and was the last living graduate of Ridgefield High School's Class of 1933.

Mrs. Leary was a retired sales clerk at the H.P. Bissell Drug Store where she had been employed for many years.

Active in St. Mary Parish of Ridgefield, Mrs. Leary was a member of the Rosary Society, Altar Society, Mother’s Club, and volunteer at many church functions as well as a weekly collection counter.

She was a member of Founders Hall and the “JGG Club.”

Mrs. Leary is survived by two daughters, Aileen M. Eagan and her husband, Judge Joseph Egan, of Ridgefield and Patricia L. Miller and her husband Rick Duncan of Asheville, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Delphine Pierandri of Ridgefield;  three grandsons, Michael Miller, Patrick Egan and Sean Egan; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Her husband died in 1992.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. in St. Mary Church.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., on Tuesday from 11:45 a.m to 12:45 p.m.
