To the Editor:

Not the proposed Winter Club or any other matter should have neighbors personally calling out neighbors in The Ridgefield Press. It was unfortunate to see a letter last week personally rebuke a leader of the Peaceable Neighbors Alliance.

Whatever the commission decides, that leader is already one of the heroes we are looking for to protect residential zoning. While inaccurate in its criticism, the letter likely gave all those concerned — supporters of the application, opponents and commissioners — a chance to chuckle by comparing the Winter Club to the Aldrich Museum or the Ridgefield Playhouse. If only it were true.
