Letter: Ridgefield Recreation Center renovation update
To the Editor:
I’d like to formally introduce myself as the (still relatively new) Parks & Recreation director for the town of Ridgefield. My name is Dennis DiPinto and I’ve been at my new post for six months as of Sept. 12.
I’m happy to report that our four locker rooms have undergone heavy renovations here at the Recreation Center and are now nearing completion. This was a necessary long-term maintenance project as some of the original walls within the locker rooms were compromised particularly in what we refer to as the “wet areas” (areas adjacent to showers, steam rooms and saunas). We are now on the home stretch and should be entirely completed with all renovations by the end of this month.
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the town of Ridgefield taxpayers for their support for the maintenance of this town asset. I’d also like to thank all of our Ridgefield Recreation Center members for their patience during this project. We expect both sets of locker rooms to be open for business by Oct. 16.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 23-24, please join us here at the Rec. Center as we celebrate our new look with membership appreciation days, (more details to follow). You need not be a member to attend, look for details on our website and Facebook.
So ... if you took the summer off or waited until we were done with our renovation to renew your
membership the time is now to rediscover the Recreation Center.
