Letter: Raise donations and cut property taxes
To the Editor:
Recently, the front page of The Ridgefield Press reported about the extraordinary power of donating in Ridgefield.
One set of donations was established to repair the fire damaged ball field and was conducted anonymously.
The second donation process was out in the open, for the capital needs of the Keeler Tavern.
Donations should be established as a key funding source for all the needs in the Ridgefield town budget.
If all of the residents of Ridgefield donated only $3 a day to a tax-deductible fund, over a year, $27 million will be raised!
Giving makes everyone feel good ... so let’s make donations a significant part of the funding source of the Ridgefield town budget. And, cut the property tax!
