Letter: RHS girls soccer captains thank the community for their support
To the Editor:
On behalf of the RHS Girls Soccer program, we wanted to thank the Ridgefield community for their support. We had a historic season this year with winning both the 2018 FCAIC and Class LL State Championships, a program first.
First, a thank you to Dane Street, Anthony Cataldo, Scott Glucksman and the entire Athletic Dept. for their tireless work getting field time and figuring out our always changing schedules, keeping our athletes healthy on the field, and providing transportation to our championship games- getting the team ready to win. A huge thank you to our local merchants in town who continually support our RHS sports team, including 850 Pizza, Genoa Deli, and Party Depot for
supporting our fundraisers. Thank you to Pamby Motors for helping up let the community know about our games with our home game banners in front of their store.
Thank you to the community who generously supported our car wash and came to cheer on the girls at the home games. A special thank you the Phil Bergen and SCOR for creating the fundamentals to our success with a strong youth program and the SCOR Ball girls who helped support us at every home game.
Thank you to our coaches Iain Golding and Barry O'Reilly for always pushing us and challenging us to be better players and teammates. Thank you to the past graduating players who were a great example of what hard work and dedication can lead to.
Lastly, thank you for our continued support from our families and friends who supported and encouraged us all season. The pasta parties and tailgates are a tradition that helped us bond before and after games which has been an integral part of our success.
