Letter: Historical society, schoolhouse are true gems of Ridgefield

To the Editor:

This past fall my wife and I visited our daughter who started a job in Ridgefield.

While we were there, we contacted the Ridgefield Historical Society to learn more about the history of the area. We appreciated the historical lesson and the tour of the Scott House. Sharon Dunphy also put us in contact with Donna Warren, who gave us a tour of the Peter Parley Schoolhouse. This little schoolhouse has been well-preserved and is a true gem. It was a pleasure to find people who are dedicated to preserve the past and so willing to share their knowledge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return many times to enjoy the warm hospitality of the people in Ridgefield.
