To the Editor:

The Board of Selectmen always whine about voter turnout.

In a 2014 charter referendum, they asked Ridgefield to vote to make the town treasurer and tax collector appointed, not elected, positions. 5,000 Ridgefield voters (60%) voted against both of these referendums.

The reason for the vote was Ridgefielders want to hold individual officeholders accountable for results and control who serves in those roles.

Not liking that answer, they are back again. Please send them a message.

Vote “no” on referendum lines five and six.
