To the Editor:
Killing deer in Ridgefield, a crowded suburban town, is not humane and not good for property values.
Would you buy a home in a neighborhood that has four months of hunting activity almost every year?
There is a vaccine, tested since 1993 and approved by the EPA, developed to control the number of fawns born. (Similar to the vaccine used successfully to control the American wild horse population )
Let’s utilize this deer control vaccine in Ridgefield and also lower the speed limit to 15 MPH on those deer crossing roads.
The Board of Selectmen should do the right thing, even if it’s not easy.
Stop killing one of God’s most beautiful creatures!
