To the Editor:

I was blown away by Clara Lerchi’s open letter to RHS seniors (A Letter to the Class of 2018) in your May 3 edition. She exhibits a level of honesty and, frankly, bravery that most kids her age (and even most adults) are unable to muster.

It is refreshing when we can acknowledge that the curated images we post on social media are merely the beautiful tip of the our “life-berg,” and not all there is; that all of us inevitably confront anxiety and self-doubt when faced with new challenges, and that it is a positive and maturing experience when we can acknowledge our challenges, seek help and find ways to prevail.
