Letter: A Republican in Connecticut

To the Editor:
I’m a member of a dying breed, a Republican in Connecticut. I see our once beautiful state heading down the road to financial ruin. I’m sorry to see that we are one of only a handful of states that are actually losing population. Here we sit in our houses that are losing their value as tolls are being planned at every exit on major highways. Going to church on Sunday or out to dinner in Danbury becomes more expensive. Newly-elected Democrats now want to take our local schools and “regionalize” them.
I get it, I get it, you don’t like President Trump, you think he’s a really, really mean, bad guy, and you’re going to show the world by voting for Liberal Democrats. So look at what your vote is doing to us. In two months time, the progressive Democrats have cost us far more than Trump has in two years! You’ve shown us!
I’m a Republican in Connecticut. I love this state. I want to stay. I wish my kids could find a job here so I can spend time with my beautiful grandkids. I just hope the powers-that-be don’t tax me out of existence.
