Giving Thanks: Run Like a Mother

To the Editor:

Mother Nature cooperated and brought dry roads to the 11th annual Run Like a Mother 5K and Kids One Mile. Run Like a Mother would like to thank the many sponsors that collectively provided an incredible morning and created memories for families that will be cherished for years to come. This little race that is big on tradition exhibited energy like no other Sunday.  More than 1,400 families celebrated Mother’s Day the healthy way! Through the partnership of Run Like a Mother and its sponsors, nearly $25,000 was given to the Ridgefield Library’s NLP: Mother’s Live Your Life fund. The library program continues to provide programming for women and families to take charge of their health in a holistic, mindful way.

Thank you to title sponsors Karla Murtaugh Homes and BMW of Ridgefield for bringing motivation and results to the race.

Run Like a Mother would also like to thank sponsors Casey Energy; Fairfield County Bank; Addessi Jewelers; Ridgefield Perfect Smile Center; Dr. Blaine Langberg, Orthodontist; Dr. Christie Coates, Ridgefield Ophthalmology; Ridgefield Physical Therapy; The Little Pub; Ridgefield Performance Chiropractic; Susi Laura Massage; and Ridgefield Running Company. Additionally, in-kind partners Enchanted Garden, Macaroni Kids, Julie Porter Photography, Ridgefield Bicycle Company, Steve’s Bagels, Stop & Shop, Poland Spring, Morris Media Group, and our own Ridgefield Parks & Recreation.

Thank you also to the Ridgefield Police Department, the Ridgefield fire-police and the many tireless volunteers who make the race run smoothly.
