“Momma’s got a squeeze box she wears on her chest,” are lyrics from the song Squeeze Box by The Who. And while the lyrics may be “couched in sexual double entendres,” according to Wikipedia, it is in fact about an accordion. And do we have a beautiful accordion for you this week at the Thrift Shop. It is an antique Olympia accordion, serial number 736, made in Italy. It is black and chrome with pearl-gray keys, in excellent condition, and comes with its original case, which is a wonderful antique by itself. This is a treasure not to be missed. It’s also the most wonderful time of the year at the Thrift Shop as we celebrate multiple holidays and have an array of special events. There are still a few Halloween costumes available (at half price), some lovely furs and leathers, Thanksgiving decorations, and a growing selection of Christmas decorations and gifts. Mark your calendar for our jewelry and evening wear boutique Nov. 9 to 11. Whether you need a squeeze box, clothes or holiday decorations, the Ridgefield Thrift Shop is the place to go. Visit us weekdays 12 to 4 (Thursdays until 8) and Saturdays 10 to 2 at 21B Governor Street.
