Thrift Shop: Vintage, practical and fun

There’s a broad selection of items in the Thrift Shop this week — vintage, practical and fun. Our vintage doll is about 20 inches tall and has red hair, fluttery blue eyes and rosy red cheeks. She is made of hard plastic with moveable hip, shoulder and neck joints and was a special member of someone’s household since 1953. Probably from the same period is our metal Tole serving tray. It’s green with a hand-painted floral design, and though there are a few dents on the edges, it is still quite charming.

On the more practical side, come in to see the four-foot-long white wooden shelf or the mini chest of drawers musical jewelry box. There also is a new Panasonic telephone answering machine. If you are just looking for something fun, the tabletop cordless meditation fountain or a tempered glass snorkel mask may make your day!

Finding vintage, practical and fun items is what makes shopping at the Thrift Shop special. Stop by to browse, touch and explore at your leisure Monday through Friday from 12 to 4 and Saturday from 10 to 2. You’ll find us at 15 Catoonah Street across from the Ridgefield Fire Department.
