Senior Scene: Rides for Ridgefield, a great program for residents
Rides for Ridgefield is a great program for Ridgefield residents. All you have to do is call us! We will listen and help you establish your needs and discuss options with you to meet those needs. If no other service is available, we can connect you with one of our own Rides for Ridgefield volunteer drivers.
Information you will need to provide when you contact our call center includes your name, contact information, any limitations you may have accessing a vehicle, and any medical equipment you may need to take when you go out. Be prepared before you call. What is the purpose of your trip, appointment location or desired destination, pickup or appointment time, estimated length of visit, and return time?
It is a good idea to have your name on file with us as well as a signed Rider Agreement whether you need them now or not. You never know when you will need them.
I have positive feedback from riders saying that our volunteers are doing a great job. However, they do need more volunteers.
The call center is in Town Hall. They need volunteers Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (two-hour shifts) and they especially need volunteer drivers. The more drivers they get, the less driving each volunteer will need to do.

Rides for Ridgefield drivers are fully screened and enjoy helping you get around. They are your Ridgefield neighbors.
See you in two weeks, Chris
