Meet Elsie, a 4-year-old Labrador mix who is a real charmer.

In October 2014, then nearly 1-year-old Elsie arrived at the ROAR shelter from a Southern rescue. After three months she was adopted but then returned to ROAR in October 2017, when her family moved out of state. Feeling a bit confused with shelter life all over again, Elsie went to a foster family where she enjoys both her human and dog family.

Her foster mom says, “Elsie really is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. She loves to be petted and to be around people. She is a great size and gets along well with other dogs. She loves to be outside and to take long walks and hikes in the woods. She really is the complete package. Nice size, trained, still young at 4, sweet, personable, great company, and incredibly gentle.”

ROAR believes that things will work out for this lovely lady on the third try. How could they not? Elsie is ready to charm you with unconditional love … forever.

Elsie’s adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Elsie is in foster care. Please call the ROAR shelter, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.  to 2 p.m., at 203-438-0158 to make an appointment to meet her.

The ROAR Donofrio Family Animal Shelter is located at 45 South Street, with adoption hours Thursday through Monday. Go to roar-ridgefield.org to learn more about all the wonderful dogs and cats available at ROAR.
