As we start 2019, the Ridgefield Republican Town Committee would like to take a moment to thank two very important public servants — Hope Wise and Toni Boucher. Hope Wise, has stepped down as the Ridgefield Republican registrar after 20 years of service. Until recently, Toni Boucher served as Ridgefield’s state senator for the past 10 years. Both of these ladies personify the meaning of public service. They have both worked tireless hours over the years with the goal of making Ridgefield and Connecticut better places to live. Hope will continue on as the chair of the Republican Town Committee. Toni will continue to stay active in assisting the Republican town committees that she proudly represented.
The best way to honor the legacies of Hope and Toni is to get involved. The Republican Town Committee needs your help and there is no better time to get involved than now. In 2019, Ridgefield will hold its municipal elections with many campaigns to support. With continued concerns over the fiscal policies and priorities from Connecticut’s new governor, we need strong elected local leaders to protect Ridgefield from extra burdens and uncertainty. Whether it be the implementation of tolls, increased taxes, unfunded mandates, or unfair financial assessments placed on town’s like Ridgefield, now is the time to not only be aware of the issues, but to also step forward and be part of the solutions at the local level.
