Democratic View: Happy holidays

For this last column of the year, Ridgefield Democrats offer our hopes that all Ridgefield residents enjoy a safe, happy and fulfilling holiday season.

To those who celebrated Hanukkah earlier this month, we hope you and yours enjoyed a warm, happy and restorative Festival of Lights.

To those celebrating Christmas, we wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with all the joy, goodwill and peace heralded by the Christ child.

To those celebrating Kwanzaa, we wish you a happy, fruitful and affirming Kwanzaa.

To all who celebrate any holidays of peace and goodwill this month, we extend our best wishes.

And to everyone, as we celebrate the passing of one year into the next, we offer wishes for a New Year filled with an abundance of joys.

Many families choose this time of year to make annual or recurring donations to various worthy causes to assist those in need or distress, or that contribute to the community fabric. Consider the many worthy local charities, including, but in no way limited to: Ridgefield Emergency Fund, Ridgefield Food Pantry, Lyme Connection, Ridgefield Prevention Council, Ridgefield Department of Social Services, Ridgefield Arts Council, Ms President US, CHIRP, Ridgefield Holiday Trust Fund, Ridgefield Independent Film Festival, Ridgefield Library, among many, many others.

Ridgefield Democrats thank you for your support throughout 2018. We look forward to 2019 with renewed optimism.
